At the Housatonic Valley Waldorf School, we believe wisdom begins with wonder. Education is not just a matter of memorization and test taking. Students learn through experience. Located in Newtown, CT, our independent day school is proud to provide elementary and middle school students in Fairfield, Litchfield and New Haven Counties, as well as Eastern New York, with wonderful and life changing programs. In addition to being a private elementary and middle school, we also provide opportunities for early childhood development, including play-based preschool and kindergarten programs. While we specialize in child-centered learning during school hours, we also offer extended care and day summer camp opportunities to give kids something fun to do. Our programs are available to children throughout Connecticut, including the communities of Newtown, Bethel, Danbury, Ridgefield, and Redding, CT, as well as Westchester County, New York. Rapadura Jiu Jitsu offers year-round programs and classes in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for ages 6-12 and 13-Adult as well as Kickboxing classes for ages 13-Adult. There are many benefits of learning a self-defense martial arts form such as Jiu-Jitsu or Kickboxing. It not only helps to build confidence but it also provides a regular physical fitness routine and contributes to overall mental wellness. This summer, learn self defense in a welcoming, encouraging community of peers! 

Safety Town Camp is a positive youth development program from Newtown Youth & Family Services. Safety Town is a one-week interactive safety education camp developed to teach rising kindergartners and first graders important life-saving lessons on strangers, traffic, fire, pedestrian, poison, drug, playground, bus, and water safety. NEW for 2025 - there are two programs separated by age group: Safety Town for ages 4-5 and Safety Town II for ages 6-7. Join us!
