Does your child enjoy playing video games competitively? If so, he/she would love being a part of a club team at Affinity Esports in Newtown! Teams are now forming around several popular games such as Rocket League, Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Madden, Minecraft and more with free trial dates being held this weekend, January 27-28 and next weekend, February 3-4, 2024. Affinity Esports also has a Youth Academy program for kids who are eager to get started with competitive gaming but not yet ready to compete on an official team.
To give students a feel for what it's like to play in the Affinity Esports competitive club team environment, the studio is now offering FREE Trial Dates for both its Club Team and Youth Academy Programs. The full schedule is below:
- Saturday, January 27 & February 3
- Fortnite - 1:00pm
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate - 2:45pm
- Minecraft Bedwars - 4:30pm
- Sunday, January 28 & February 4
- Youth Academy - 9:00am
- Apex Legends - 1:00pm
- Rocket League - 2:45pm
- Valorant - 4:30pm
The Affinity Esports Youth Academy, encompassing Levels 1 and 2, is well-suited for players who are eager to embark on their journey towards competitive gaming but may not yet be ready to compete on one of our official teams. This academy provides a nurturing and enjoyable environment that focuses on teaching not only the intricacies of the game but also personal and team-based skills necessary to help participants reach their gaming aspirations. It serves as a stepping stone towards more competitive play, offering a comprehensive foundation for young gamers to develop and progress. We will evaluate your child's play and then work closely with you to determine which level is most appropriate for them.
The Affinity Esports Competitive Club Teams are for players ages 7-17 who are actively playing in the competitive ranking system within their favorite game(s) such as Rocket League, Valorant, Apex Legends, Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Overwatch 2, CS:GO/CS2, League of Legends, Madden and Fortnite, Minecraft Bedwars and The Finals. The program includes 40 hours of instruction with a practice and match day each week guided by a dedicated coach. Players will receive a team jersey to represent the community and will be placed in a competitive team environment alongside their peers to win and lose together as a team. The club experience delivers the next level of exposure to the esports industry, future competitions and career exploration.

This class introduces kids to competitive organized gaming (also known as Esports) in an engaging environment for kids to learn skills, make friends, and explore the gaming industry. Your child will experience a variety of games and learn about digital content creation, game creation, and esports. Coaches emphasize character-building, communication, teamwork, balance, wellness, and basic internet safety. Winter Session II begins Feb. 26th.
