Last year right around this date and time, I was pulling together a Back-to-School Guide just weeks away from giving birth to my second daughter. I recall that I published that newsletter on August 17 and gave birth on August 21. Talk about cutting it close! This year I decided to move up the publishing date by a week or so to allow some extra time to plan a very special first birthday party. I'm looking forward to pulling together the decorations, food, and of course, to making her cake (I'm big into making my own kids' birthday cakes!).
As it turns out, moving up the publishing date has aligned well with many businesses' back-to-school plans. As a result, this year's Guide is bigger than ever with over a dozen participating businesses and organizations from pre-schools, dance schools and martial arts schools to music programs, photography, a hair salon and more.
