If your child is a fan of Thomas the Train or Dinosaurs, you are in for a special treat. My older daughter was a Thomas Fan when she was smaller and even at age seven, she still got such a kick out of the themed rides. Some of their favorite rides were the Spinning Lady Bug Coaster, Carousel and Flying Planes (Edaville Proper) as well as Toby's Tilting Tracks, Cranky's Crane Drop and Rockin' Bullstrode (Thomas Land). We also enjoyed a family ride on the Thomas Train all around the park and through the cranberry bogs. We took the ride at dusk - which was beautiful although if I had to do it again I'd go during the day when you can see the landscape a bit more.

Through the end of October, guests can also enjoy Pumpkins AGLOW - a spectacular nighttime display of intricate, hand-carved and glowing pumpkins placed throughout Dino Land. This attraction is a tad on the spooky side if your kids are afraid of the dark as there are some sound effects, colored fog and a few Halloween scenes/characters scattered throughout. Pumpkins AGLOW was certainly the highlight of our visit - both kids (and parents/grandparents!) truly loved it! 
A trip to Edaville USA can be done in one day (it's about a 3-hour drive from Danbury) however we opted to stay overnight in a nearby hotel so that we could spend day two exploring nearby Plymouth. Unfortunately our Plymouth excursion had to be postponed since we woke up Sunday to a full day forecast of heavy rain.
All in all - Edaville is well worth the drive! The park is very clean, family-friendly and packed with rides and attractions kids will love. Editor's Tip: While there are dining options with kid-friendly menu items, I also noticed there are many picnic areas throughout the park. Next time I think I'll pack a cooler bag with lunch/snacks to enjoy the picturesque surroundings!
