GUIDE: Local Summer Camps & Programs

Join Museum educators and practicing artists for Camp Aldrich - full-day, week-long arts experiences for children entering grade 1-10. Camp dates are July 11-August 5, 9AM-5PM. Campers explore the work on view as well as the Museum’s two-acre campus, are inspired by The Aldrich’s exhibitions, and learn to incorporate the world around them into their art. Each week culminates in a celebration for family and friends. Caregivers receive personalized daily emails from Camp staff with updates on what the group did during the day, what their child accomplished and learned, and what is planned for the children the following day. This summer we are offering two different camps for boys and girls ages 4-12: Soccer Camp and Multi-Sport Recreational Camp. Both camps will be held in weekly sessions for 9 weeks from Monday, June 20 through Friday, August 19. Half-day and full-day sessions are available. Our camps are FUN, SAFE and RELIABLE. No need to worry about the rain or the heat in our climate controlled state of the art facility. The weather or outside elements will not be a problem our camps will always take place. Join us for our Weekly Summer Club Fun! The action starts June 20th and is packed with daily Gymnastics, THEMED days, arts & crafts, inflatables, games and NINJA MANIA classes: the perfect chance for your child to channel their inner Ninja Warrior! From 9:00am-1:00pm children will bounce on inflatables, jump into our foam-filled pit, swing on our bars & ropes, and play an endless amount of THEMED games in our 5,000SF air conditioned gym! Summer Club Fun is available for children 4 years old – 1st grade.

Attend the Ultimate Magic Camp with expert coaching by well-known magician Tom Pesce! Kids at any skill level will learn sleight-of-hand, stage magic, comedy, ventriloquism, balloon twisting, routine building and more. Kids will also participate in live stage shows and special events to build confidence. Held at Jesse Lee United Methodist Church July 11-15 for grades 2-4 and 5-8.  

We offer a summer horseback riding program for beginners and younger riders. Camp runs weekly June 13 - August 12. Camp activities include one hour of riding, arts and craft, horsemanship lesson, teamwork building and horsey games.  At the end of each week there is a small horse show for family and friends to showcase what we've learned. Moonlight Farm is a professional and friendly environment. Our emphasis is on safety, fun, love of the horse and educational team work. Come see why our wonderful riders stay for years. 

Summer classes are 6 weeks long and will include singing, dancing, rhythmic chants, small and large movement activities, and instrument play. These activities are presented as informal, non-performance oriented musical experiences developmentally appropriate for children and easy for parents and caregivers regardless of their own musical ability. The Summer Youth Theater Workshop at Musicals at Richter is not only a fun way to spend the summer, but also an exciting way to improve your craft and put on a show at the same time. Participants ages 8-16 can experience all aspects of a production, as well as exploring the foundation skills necessary for putting on a show. Spend your mornings in workshops learning the basic fundamentals of music, choreography, acting and improv! The afternoons will be dedicated to putting the show together and rehearsing. This program offers a supportive environment where everyone is encouraged to use his or her creativity and imagination while working together as an ensemble to craft an exciting piece of theater.

Day camp, like many Y programs, is about learning new skills, developing character and making new friends. Few environments are as special as camp. At YMCA Camp Greenknoll kids learn and master skills, see what accomplishments they can achieve, connect with old friends while making new ones and garner a sense of belonging. Every day is a chance for kids to be active, address summer learning loss and have fun. 

Ridgefield Parks & Recreation wants to give your child a summer to remember.  Adventure Day Camp is available to children ages 3 to 13.  There are 8 one-week sessions running from June 20 to August 12 at the Recreation Center.  Each week of camp includes swimming, sports, field trips, inflatables, games, art, science, and more.  Swim lessons and Spray Bay play time are also included for most campers.  There is an Early Bird Special.  If you register in March for two or more weeks of Adventure Day Camp, you will receive 10% off.

Get your sparkle on this summer! If your child loves all things sparkly, loves dancing, glamour, crafts and creative fun, consider summer camp at Sparklicious! Princess Academy is for ages 4-7 and will be held from August 15 through August 19 from 10AM-1PM. Each day will feature a different theme that will include crafts, dancing, creative play, story time, games snack and more! Sparkle Club is for ages 7-12 and runs from August 10 through August 12 from 10AM-12PM. Each day will feature a different theme that will include crafts, glamour, dancing and more!
