It’s the Fall harvest season so what better way to celebrate and welcome in the cooler weather than with a short 20-minute round trip ride on a vintage train to the Danbury Railway Museum’s Pumpkin Patch. Trains depart at 11:00 AM, 12 noon, 1:00 PM, 2:00 PM, and 3:00 PM

On Saturday evenings, an additional twilight train will depart at 6:00 PM with a special activities at the patch. Also, the 11:00 trains on Saturdays will feature our popular Storytime Express.

Ride "The Husking Bee" Pumpkin Patch train through the historic railyard in a 1920's passenger coach, pulled by a vintage ALCo RS-1 diesel-electric locomotive (or other vintage locomotive, subject to availability) to the museum’s pumpkin patch where everyone can select a free pumpkin and enjoy some free cider & cookies. There are numerous photo ops and even a vintage tractor! Back due to its popularity last year is the “haunted caboose;” visit it if you dare! Of course, the exhibits, artifacts, and multiple operating model train layouts inside the restored over 100-year old Danbury station will be open for your education and entertainment. Out in the railyard, go inside real railroad cars and locomotives. There is a fully-stocked gift shop on the premises. The event will be held rain or shine.
