The Prospector Theater, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, provides meaningful employment to people with disabilities through the operation of a premium, first-run movie theater located in the heart of historic downtown Ridgefield, Connecticut.
All the elements of the Prospector Theater are consistent with our mission of providing vocational training and meaningful job opportunities to adults with disabilities. Our largest theater is 162 seats, and our smallest is 16 seats – ideal for people with sensory issues who may not be able to enjoy a movie in the larger theaters. Each theater has handicap seats at prime viewing angles, mixed with the regular theater chairs so that friends and family can enjoy movies together.
Extraordinary personalized birthday experiences, offering first-run movies, balloons, the birthday wagon, your very own Prospect party coordinator, delicious popcorn and treat options, multiple theaters to chose from; each featuring plush, velvet seats, a birthday shout out from the ushers, and optional packages for a birthday lunch or dinner in the Star Bar. Delicious, themed cake or cupcakes to match the movie of the birthday child’s choice is also an option. The Prospector Theater is a modern, sparkly background for any party.
