The Summer Day Camp through Newtown Parks and Recreation offers daily activities designed to enhance each camper’s competence, connections, character, confidence and in the long term, their individual contribution to the community. Camp provides challenging activities in both small and large group settings through activities such as swimming, sports and other traditional outdoor camp activities. Campers will have experiences connecting them to the natural environment of Newtown parks.
There are multiple day camp experiences for kids ages 4-17 for summer 2026!
Dates:
Treadwell & Dickinson Day Camps: Weekly (Monday-Friday) June 22 – August 14 (last week is Dickinson Day Camp only)
Teen Travel Adventure Camp: Weekly June 29 – July 31

Newtown Parks and Recreation Day Camps will provide your child with the Best Summer Ever!
Daily activities are designed to enhance each camper’s competence, connections, character, confidence and in the long term, their individual contribution to our community. One of the ways in which we achieve these goals is by providing challenging activities in both small and large group settings. In addition to swimming, sports, theme days and other traditional outdoor camp activities, we provide experiences that connect campers to the natural environment of our town parks. Also included are day trips to destinations such as Quassy Amusement & WaterPark and special guests at camp including Mini-Golf To Go, circus performers, a magician and more.
Camp staff is chosen carefully and trained to provide campers with a fun and supportive atmosphere. Our staff members facilitate an environment where campers can learn new skills, make friends, and most importantly develop self-confidence. Newtown Parks and Recreation’s Summer Day Camps provide the opportunity for your child to feel safe, run, sing, laugh and grow.
Teen Travel Adventure Camp (Ages 11-15)
We have an exciting adventure planned for your teens this summer! Fees for our all-inclusive Teen Travel Adventure Camp include admission and transportation for all trips/adventures. Fun-filled daily trips include water parks, kayaking/canoeing, paintball sports, amusement parks, ropes course, zoo visit and go-cart rides.
Special Interest Camps (4-17)
Newtown Parks and Recreation offers a diverse line-up of special interest camps including Sports (basketball, soccer, flag football, golf, Lacrosse, tennis, multi-sports), Esports (Gaming & Related Skills), Arts (film-making, drawing/painting/sculpture, knitting, dance, acting, singing), Culinary, Martial Arts and more.
Hours:
Treadwell & Dickinson Day Camps: 9am-3pm, Extended Day options for 8-9am & 3-6pm.

Day Camp Summer School Option: 12-3pm, Monday-Thursday) & 9am-3pm Friday
Teen Travel Adventure Camp: camp begins 8-9am and ends 3-6pm (depending upon day trips)
