Pilobolus, the world-renowned modern dance theater company based in Washington, Connecticut, invites families of all ages to attend their third annual Family Day celebration on Saturday, September 21, from 1-3PM at Shepaug Valley High School, 159 South Street, Washington, Conn. Grants provided by The James R. Dougherty, Jr. Foundation and Union Savings Bank make it possible to offer free tickets to those 18 and under and just $10 for adults.
The performance begins at 1PM and will be followed by lawn games, with delicious treats provided by Jesse’s Ice Cream, Pepsi, LesserEvil, and Caraluzzi’s Markets. A pre-show workshop for children ages five to twelve interested in creating a special alphabet dance to be performed on stage with our dancers will be held at noon; space is limited to 25 registrants on a first-come, first-served basis.
“It’s important to Pilobolus that we give back to the community whenever we can”, said Executive and Co-Artistic Director, Renée Jaworski. “Family Day is an event our staff and dancers look forward to hosting each year. It’s a tradition that brings together children, parents, grandparents, and friends for an educational movement experience as well as outdoor play. We are so thankful to our sponsors and supporters for allowing us to keep this event accessible.”
