SMART Camp cultivates a child's inner artist by encouraging imagination, creativity, and exploration through various art programs. Art not only awakes the inner artist, but allows a child to practice self-expression through movement, music, painting, and more. At SMART Camp, we believe in creating a safe and fun environment, while fostering social and emotional well-being for all campers. On the last Friday of each two-week session, your artist will have the chance to showcase their creations in a confidence-boosting, Art Show.

  • Dates: Session 1: July 3-14; Session II: July 17-28; Mon-Fri 8:30AM-1PM (no camp on July 4)
  • Campers can choose to attend up to 3 different classes (within their grade group) each day during their 2-week session.
  • Location: Newtown High School
  • Ages: Grades K-6

Forensic science is introduced by combining logical reasoning, some math and out-of-the-box thinking! Guest Speakers with hands-on CSI and Detective experience will stop in to keep Jr. Detectives engaged and on the case!

Outdoor Explorers Camp

This is a hands-on program that will bring children closer to nature; opening up a new world, while giving them life-long skills, knowledge, and experiences. In this camp, campers will meet and handle live animals, explore woodlands, streams, and wetlands, play, observe, build, and create in the natural world. Most importantly, campers will come and go home with dirt on their hands and a smile on their face! Studies suggest this form of exploring can make children healthier, happier, and even smarter!  Our main goal is to give children an opportunity to explore the outdoors, while maintaining a safe and healthy environment.

  • Dates: Weekly, 7/3- 7/28 (Mon-Fri; no camp on July 4); 9AM-2PM
  • Location: Sandy Hook Elementary School
