"Very nice people and nice environment. Our three kids all started with pre-Suzuki program and then moved on to play piano.  All three of them play piano beautifully. We are very happy with the Suzuki program and approach.  All the instructors there (Paul, Helen, Trish, Andy) are committed to the program and they do a wonderful job teaching the kids.  They are able to work with all levels and all ages. It is a fantastic place to get kids of any age exposed to music!" Sophia White

Piano (All ages; schedule to be arranged; private and group classes available)
Students will work on ear training and the development of proper tone and technique at the beginning stages of their piano experience. After mastering folk songs by ear, students are quickly exposed to reading music. All students are exposed to all genres of music: Classical, Jazz, Blues, Pop, and Broadway just to name a few.

Guitar (All ages; schedule to be arranged; private and group classes available)
Studying the classical guitar allows the student to experience a wide range of musical styles from Classical and Jazz to Rock and Traditional Folk.

Violin/Viola (All ages; schedule to be arranged; private and group classes available)
Studying the violin or viola at the Suzuki Music School is a wonderful way to help foster in a child the joy of learning. Traditional string lessons are offered as well to help students develop skills which will allow them to flourish in their school orchestral program.

"I couldn’t recommend the Suzuki music school enough. My daughter had never had any kind of musical background and she now has finished Book 1 of Suzuki violin. Her teacher, Julie, has been extremely patient, has given us excellent feedback and homework to work on and practice during the week. There are regular recitals throughout the year which gives us an extra incentive to practice. This is an overall awesome music school. Very happy we chose it for our daughter's violin lessons."  Kamla Woodard

About the Suzuki Philosophy:
The core principle of the Suzuki method is the ‘Mother Tongue’ aspect of the philosophy. Suzuki discovered that children could learn to play beautiful music the same way they learned to speak their native language. Given the proper training and environmental conditions, any child may develop a high level of ability. Parental involvement is an integral component of the method. The ‘Home Teacher’ will be taught the basic information to help the child practice effectively each day. A positive, nurturing environment is encouraged. We are not born with talent; it is something which may be learned.

"We highly recommend Suzuki Music School in Newtown, Ct..  Our two youngest children have been students for the past 7 years.   We are very pleased with the technique and approach. And the teachers are wonderful!" Paul Darragh
