Don't Miss Tapeface at The Ridgefield Playhouse, April 23

By Meghan Friedland, Publisher/Editor, Macaroni KID Greater Danbury, CT April 7, 2023

Tape Face is a hilarious, unique character created by performer Sam Wills; delightful, funny, and inspiring with universal appeal. This America’s Got Talent Finalist gives a performance which transcends the boundaries of age, language and culture, drawing on heritage that includes silent film, vaudeville, mime puppetry, Motown and the films of Patrick Swayze. Tape Face transforms every object and audience member into an active plaything. Shoes sing, empty dresses dance and electrical tape blossoms into roses; he creates a world of possibilities where the only certainty is laughter. See Tape Face in all his unique glory return to the Ridgefield Playhouse on Sunday, April 23, 2023 at 7pm!

Tape Face regularly sells out at festivals and engagements all over the world. In addition to his Tape Face residency at Harrah’s on the Las Vegas strip, recent productions include successful runs on London’s West End, North American tours, and residencies in Pairs and Beijing. He is a favorite at many international festivals, including multiple sold-out seasons at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, New Zealand, Adelaide, Toronto and Montreal Festivals. Don’t miss your chance to see The Boy back at the Playhouse!

Every once in a while, something magical reminds us that we all have an inner child that must be fed. Through simple, clever and charming humor aimed at satisfying that hunger, Tape Face has created one of the most accessible and enjoyable shows the world has ever seen. Mime with noise, stand-up with no talking – drama with no acting. Tape Face has to be seen to be believed. So what does he do exactly? Well, simply mentioning any aspect of this diverse show would be a disservice – the less you know the more you will enjoy this show. Tape Face is a character with universal appeal. Delightful, wry, many-layered and hilarious, he transcends the barriers of language and culture. You’ll laugh, you’ll scream and ultimately end up like Tape Face – lost for words.

Comedian Sam Willis won over the judges and audience of America’s Got Talent and America’s Got Talent: Champions without saying a single word. Now, you can witness his physically hilarious show when he stops at the Ridgefield Playhouse! This spectacular and inventive show is entertaining for the whole family. As the name suggests, Tape Face performs with duct tape covering his mouth. While he may be silent, this hilarious show leaves you roaring with laughter.
