Did you know that you can visit the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum in Ridgefield for FREE every third Saturday of every month? Yep! This Saturday, September 17th is the third Saturday so head over to the museum and enjoy all it has to offer for families with children. Here is the rundown of events for the day:

10:30AM: Story Time for Young Explorers: Life on Mars
Load up your spaceship and blast off to The Aldrich for Story Time for Young Explorers, alongside the Ridgefield Library! During the expedition, you will discover outdoor sculpture by Alice Aycock with a family-friendly reading of Life on Mars by Jon Agee, inspired by how science can fuel the imagination and vice versa. Then, trek over to the Studio for a guided art-making activity: creating your own cardboard satellites! Perfect for families with children in early elementary school, grades K-2.

12:00PM-4:00PM: Drop-in The Studio for a guided family-friendly art-making activity anytime!

1:00PM: Explore! Self-Guided Quest of 52 Artists
This Third Saturday, stop by the Front Desk to pick up a free Explore! Guide to take you on a self-guided quest of the galleries. Along the quest you will search, sketch, puzzle-solve and discover connections between the original artists from Twenty Six Contemporary Women Artists in 1971 and the new generation of artists featured alongside them in the current exhibition, 52 Artists: A Feminist Milestone.

1:00PM: All Ages, Group Gallery Tour
Join a group for an all-ages gallery tour of 52 Artists: A Feminist Milestone guided by Museum Educators.

Founded by art collector and fashion designer Larry Aldrich in 1964, The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum is one of the oldest contemporary art museums in the United States. The Museum is one of the few independent, non-collecting institutions in the country and the only museum in Connecticut solely dedicated to the presentation of contemporary art. The Museum is located on Main Street in historic downtown Ridgefield, Connecticut an hour and a half north of New York City. The campus includes a two-acre Sculpture Garden and is walking distance from a Revolutionary War battlefield, and many restaurants and shops.  Learn more at https://thealdrich.org/.
