The 2022 Summer Youth Program at the Brookfield Craft Center will offer inspired opportunities to explore creative projects in 8 unique studios; Forge, Modern Craft Digital Arts, Ceramics, Glass, Wood, Fiber, Jewelry and our River Room multi-media studio. Brookfield Craft Center’s studio instruction will be led by professional artists promoting structured supportive and Covid safe environments. Classes will be limited in size to ensure social distancing.
- Dates: Runs weekly (half-day and full-day options): July 11-15, July 25-29, August 8-12 and August 22-26.
- Times: 9a-12p or 1p-4p (A supervised lunch time between 12-1pm is available for children staying on campus for an additional $40. Lunches are not provided.)
- Ages: 8-11 and 12-17
- Scholarships available: If you know a child interested in a class offered during our Summer Youth Art Program that is deserving of a scholarship, please visit the website and complete a submission form.
Each class will have an experienced artist instructor to teach various craft mediums at a basic skill level. Some of the classes offered are:
- Glass Studio: Borosilicate Marbles on the Torch, Glass Bead Making, Glass Pendants, Fused Glass Fun
- Woodturning Studio: Turn a Platter with Eggshell Mosaic Decoration, Turn Your Own Baseball Bat, Hand Crafted Tool Box, Spoon Carving Workshop
- Ceramics Studio: Build, Throw & Roll
- Fiber Studio: Folded Bark and Woven Basket Making, African Jewelry Knotting: History & Technique
- Forge: Blacksmith Basics
- Painting & Drawing: Drawing *Fun*damentals, Finding Your Way, A Painting Experience
- Modern Craft Studio: Introduction to Video Game Design, 3D Design & Printing
