On select weekends in October, visitors to the Danbury Railway Museum (120 White Street, Danbury) can board "The Husking Bee" for a ride out to their Pumpkin Patch!
After a brief ride through the railyard in a set of 1920's coaches pulled by a 1940's diesel locomotive, the train will pull up to a pumpkin patch where passengers will disembark. Guests will be treated to cookies and apple cider while kids select their own pumpkin (included in admission). Families will also enjoy photo opportunities such as with vintage cast iron tractor seats!
The $15 admission for ages 2 and older (under 2 free) also includes:
- Viewing of operating model railroads
- Indoor exhibits in the museum's restored 1903 train station
- Tours inside of antique railroad cars, including a 100-year-old steam engine
