Last Chance! Drive-In Laser Light Show at Quassy, Sept. 17-19

Get ready to be dazzled.

A “Totally Rock’n Drive-In Laser Light Show” is coming to Quassy Amusement Park Sept. 9, 10, 11, 12, 17, 18 and 19.

Quassy’s main parking lot will be transformed into a drive-in theater for the 8 p.m. family-friendly presentations with online tickets available now at www.quassy.com. The price per car is $25 and Quassy officials noted that the event is pre-sale only and no tickets will be sold at the park. Gates will open at 6 p.m. for each show.

In addition, those in attendance may donate nonperishable food items in support of the Quassy Cares program to assist area food banks.

Huge Screen And Aerial Lasers

A giant screen will be erected with stunning full color laser motion graphics projected onto it while eight separate units will engulf the crowd in brilliant aerial beams of light. The entire cutting-edge show will be choreographed to current pop and classic rock music transmitted via an FM radio signal to the vehicles in attendance.

“This will be an incredible show, no doubt,” said Quassy’s George Frantzis, a park owner. “We have done laser shows in the past, but nothing like this. The equipment the production company is bringing in will far surpass what was presented before. And families concerned about COVID can be somewhat at ease as this is an outdoor event with space provided between parked vehicles.”

The park official added, “These shows have been playing across the country and selling out, so that’s why we are offering pre-sale only tickets. The great thing, too, is that we have an early show time so families can come and enjoy the evening together. We secured a regional exclusive with the production company, so this will be the only drive-in presentation by them in our area.”

With the park’s annual fall food drive attached to the seven-night event, Quassy hopes to add further assistance to those in need.

“We were overwhelmed with donations earlier this year when we held two neighbors in need weekends,” Frantzis noted. “Paired with this great family show, we expect another successful food drive.”

Presenting partners of the “Totally Rock’n Drive-In Laser Light Show” are TD Bank, Price Chopper supermarkets, Pepsi, Voices newspaper and WFSB Channel 3.

Sorry, No Tall Vehicles

As a courtesy to all attending, no RVs, buses, trailers or tall vans will be admitted to the shows. Producer Laser Encore of Minneapolis, Minn., also pointed out that rain enhances the lasers, so guests should not fear some sprinkles.

While tailgating will be encouraged so families might arrive early, Quassy officials noted that no grills can be used on the property. The park will offer food and beverages sales.

Quassy Amusement Park’s rides and attractions will not be in operation during the laser shows, but the main restrooms adjacent to the parking lot will be open.
