DANCE
Ballet, jazz, modern or tap, Fineline offers them all along with acrobatics and theatre dance. In Ballet (ages 3+), the focus is on balance, alignment, coordination, and musicality to give students a strong ballet foundation, which can be useful in all styles of dance. With Jazz (ages 7+), students will focus on learning proper dance technique and alignment, improving performance quality, and developing complex rhythms and patterns. Modern (ages 10+) will focus on contraction and release, fall and recovery, a sense of weight and gravity on the body, opposition, efficiency of movement, expansion and fulfillment of movement, moving from the core as well as distal initiation. Tap (ages 5+) will build strength, coordination, rhythm, musicality, and confidence. Acrobatics
ACTING & MUSICAL THEATRE
The Acting and Musical Theatre program gives interested students the opportunity to study the practical and theoretical elements of live theatre. The program integrates classwork and practical workshops with an active production schedule that includes two main-stage productions a year and a variety of student projects. Students can also take related classes in theatre dance and/or vocal performance.
"My 8-year-old daughter had taken musical theatre classes at FineLine recently absolutely loved it. I cannot say enough about the quality and professionalism of the staff at FineLine. From friendly smiles and greetings at the door every week to the giggles she shared with new-found theater friends before and after class, she always felt part of something special. Drama Director Leland Williams is warm, funny and incredibly talented. She teaches with passion and creativity and is a great role model for her students. The basic through advanced techniques and skills that are taught prepare students well for the stage and stay with them well beyond the final bow." ~ Meghan, Editor/Publisher of Macaroni Kid
