Now Enrolling at Danceline Bethel: Ballet, Tap, Jazz & Hip Hop

Danceline Bethellocated in the heart of downtown at 137 Greenwood Avenue, is now enrolling for fall dance classes! There are spots still available specifically for the Dancing Divas group (ages 7-11) in all levels of Ballet, Tap and Jazz as well as their new Hip Hop class! If you are looking for a dance school with small classes which allow for your dancer to receive individualized time and attention, then Danceline is a great option to consider. Dancing Divas (Ages 7-11) Class Schedule

Ballet I: Mondays 4:45-5:30pm

This class will explore the techniques of ballet and will further enhance the beginning lessons of this style. We will focus on body placement, technique, and structure to build the basics needed for all dance styles. DD Ballet will include stretch, barre, and center focusing on core alignment and positioning.

Ballet II: Fridays 4:45-5:30pm

This class is for students who have taken at least 3 years of prior ballet training. This class is heavily focused on ballet technique and will work at a faster pace with harder goals than Ballet I. Only students who are really interested in increasing their Ballet knowledge and perfecting their technique should take this class. Ballet II will include stretch, barre, across the floor, and center.

Jazz: Tuesdays  4:45-5:30pm

This class combines ballet and contemporary movement as well as modern music. We will cover basic jazz techniques and build on them throughout the class. DD Jazz is an introduction to jazz techniques using stretch, warmup, across the floor, and choreography.

Tap: Thursdays  4:45-5:30pm

This class will work on the techniques and dynamics of tap. We will further enhance the beginning lessons of this style focusing on sound, foot placement, and stage presence. DD Tap will incorporate stretch, warmup, across the floor, and center.

Hip Hop: Saturdays  1:00-1:45pm

This class will introduce students to the basic movements and culture of hip hop. Hip hop is a high-energy, varied movement dance form. This style of dance doesn't follow any rules, and focuses on footwork. Classes will begin with warm-up and stretch, followed by foundation steps, and a dance routine. No previous experience is necessary. Bring your attitude, laughs, and energy and let's dance!

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR:
Rachel Parille (pictured left) was raised in New Fairfield, CT where she first discovered her love of dance. She studied tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, and pointe for 8 years at Larnel School of Performing Arts. She has been choreographing since age 15 and has performed her own choreography at local events such as school classes, talent shows, recitals, showcases, and more.

After high school, Rachel went on to become part of the dance team at her college, Western Connecticut State University. She performed at football games, basketball games, competitions, and big events such as homecoming. During college, Rachel also worked as a dance teacher and administrator at Seven Stars School of Performing Arts in Brewster, NY.

Rachel has been studying and performing line dances at difference venues throughout CT and NY for 5 years. She was part of the Premiere Entertainment line dancing team for three years where she instructed, performed, and choreographed line dances.

After college, Rachel taught dance at Spark Arts in Bethel, CT for a year and a half, and was the dance program director for 4 months before its closing.
