If you are looking for a unique summer program for your 5th, 6th or 7th grader, then you have to check out the Forensic Science Camp being offered through New Fairfield Park & Recreation.
Led by Bethel Middle School teacher, Rob Flynn, The Forensic Science two-week summer program covers crime scene steps, fingerprinting, footwear impressions, blood typing, and forgeries, and is ideal for students going into grades 5, 6, and 7.
This is Mr. Flynn's second year teaching Forensic Science through the New Fairfield Parks and Recreation and his fifteenth year overall. He previously ran the program through Super Science at New Milford High School. Mr. Flynn shared with us, "The class has evolved over the years, and I have been fortunate to have had exceptional speakers including detectives, an attorney, a forensic pathologist, but the visits from the Western District Major Crime Squad and detectives have been incredible. Not only do the detectives perform demonstrations and provide a tour of the van, but they have recreated crime scenes for the class to investigate with their actual equipment. This certainly is the class highlight!"
The program runs from Monday July 8 - Friday July 19, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at New Fairfield Middle School.
