CT Open House Day, June 8

Free Admission on Area Museums and Destinations

Save the date for Connecticut Open House Day - a popular one-day event in which destinations across Connecticut offer free or discounted admission or special offers to Connecticut residents. Organized by the Connecticut Office of Tourism, Connecticut Open House Day is designed to showcase Connecticut’s diverse mix of history, art, culture and tourism, and encourage residents to discover or rediscover the wealth of treasures in their own backyard. 

Greater Danbury Area Participating organizations: 

DANBURY

  • Danbury Museum & Historical Society                     
    Free admission from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., which includes tours and a special exhibition.
  • Gallery at Still River Editions
    Open from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m., featuring the exhibition of photographs by Robert Jacobsen and photoencaustics by Marcy Juran. Enjoy art, conversation and light refreshments.

KENT

LITCHFIELD

NEW MILFORD

  • Gallery 25 & Creative Arts Studio 
    Open from noon until 8 p.m. The New England Waterscolor Society and other will be painting plein air for a visual arts event. The public is invited to join in, bringing your own equipment.

NEWTOWN

RIDGEFIELD

SHERMAN

  • Old Store Gift Shop & Museum 
    The Northrop House will be opened from noon until 3 p.m., with the exhibit, “Tea for Two,” displaying tea sets from around the world. Old Store will be open from noon until 4 p.m., both locations serving light refreshments.
