REVIEW: Marvel Universe Live: Age of Heroes @ Webster Bank Arena

By Casey Wood, Contributing Writer and Macaroni Kid Assistant March 2, 2019

My kids and I had the wonderful opportunity to go see “Marvel Universe Live: Age of Heroes” at Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport last night. The Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy were in full force to protect the powerful wand of Watoomb against Loki, Nebula, and other super-villains in this action-packed adventure. In classic Avengers style, they keep you on the edge of your seat while adding some banter and humor for the adults to enjoy.

We were in awe over the acrobatics, pyrotechnics, lasers, and aerial dancers.  There was even a fire-breathing dragon at one point that made the whole place heat up!  My son, who is 4, said his favorite part was the volcano scene where Spiderman had to escape the lava.  He was cheering on Spiderman, IronMan, Captain America, Black Widow, and Groot along with the crowd.  He truly loves all things Avengers and is declaring Captain America now his favorite!

My 10 year old daughter said that it is the best show she has ever been to and couldn’t stop raving about it at the end of the performance all the way back to the car.  She was amazed by the fire dancers who twirled their flaming batons with grace and ease.  The dirt bike stunts impressed her as she gasped and pointed when they flipped through the air.  We both kept trying to figure out where all the superheroes were coming from, because they would quickly appear from every part of the stage and scenery!

If you are looking to escape from the cold, we suggest that you assemble your family and join the action at Webster Bank Arena this weekend. Hulk says it’s a smash hit!

MAC KID TIPS:

Parking is $10 directly across from the arena. Just arrive early so you can relax and enjoy the show.

Toys, souvenirs, etc. inside run about $15 - $35 for figurines. Lots of items spin and light up and are all at eye level so it's hard to avoid those tables that line the perimeter of the concourse so plan accordingly.

Snow cones, popcorn, cotton candy, lemonade, etc. are all priced above $10 each - some at $12 and $15 because they come with an Avenger souvenir.  We got the cotton candy, which came with a Spiderman hat/mask.
