NOW ENROLLING: Fall Theater and Dance Programs at Enchanted Garden

Enchanted Garden in Ridgefield is offering a variety of theater and dance programs this fall for children of all ages. Enrollment is open and going on now. THEATER CLASSES
From princesses and pirates to fairytales and zombies, the variety of theater classes that Enchanted Garden has lined up for this fall are sure to ignite your childā€™s creativity while providing a fun, nurturing environment in which to learn. Classes are designed to teach theater skills, build self-confidence and engage in a collaborative process all while having fun. Theater classes are taught by highly trained professional instructors Amanda Bloom Robbins and Wendy Mitchell whose love for and experience in the arts (both have extensive backgrounds in theater and music) are sure to inspire your child to learn and grow.

  • The Princess and the Pirates (Pre-K-Grade 2): Ahoy Mateys! This class will tell the tale of the Royal Princess Sheelagh of Connacht and her journey from an abbey in France to the Delectable Land of Candy. Performances at end of each session.

  • Fairytale Theater (Ages 3-5): This class will use critically-acclaimed, age-appropriate childrenā€™s stories as the jumping off point. Each class will begin with interactive storytelling, after which the instructor and students create a dramatic retelling of the story.

  • Musical Theater (Gr. K-5): Through a warm up of energetic game play, students will learn about focus, projection, diction, breathing, stage direction, and teamwork. After warm ups, students work with the director in preparation for a performance opportunity in winter and a fully-staged musical production in spring.

  • Krampus in Candyland (Grades 3-5): Krampus, a creature from ancient German folklore, tries everything to ruin a friend's party after she and her guests bully him for being different. After a fun-filled journey meeting various story characters, Krampus learns that good always wins over evil and that kindness counts. Performances at end of each session.

  • Acting and Musical Theater (Grades 6-8): This class will explore all kinds of theater, including, musical theater, improv. and monologues. Performance opportunity in winter, fully staged production in the spring -- where every actor is a star.

  • Zombie 80s Prom (Grades 6-8): What do you get when you mix one part Rock of Ages with two parts 80s Prom and sprinkle in a bit of zombie juice? An exciting and fun-filled musical! This production includes pumped up rock songs, cool choreography and tons of fun for ghouls of all ages. Performances at the end of each session.

DANCE CLASSES



The dance program at Enchanted Garden this fall offers something for everyone. The school encourages all dance students to receive Ballet training to develop a foundation in ballet, learning the fundamentals of body alignment, flexibility, balance, and grace. In addition to an array of ballet classes (grouped by age: 2 through 18), Enchanted Garden offers Jazz, Hip-Hop, Tap, Breakdance, Modern, Repertory, Jazz and Broadway. Th

ere are also a number of programs that are unique to Enchanted Garden, including ā€œNuts About the Nutcracker,ā€ Jazz Repertory and Production Study.
