Levine! This dazzling romp through Broadway musicals features current, leading Broadway dancers and vocalists along with a live band! The cast will perform sensational show-off dances including show-stoppers “All That Jazz” (Chicago), “Razzle Dazzle” (Chicago), “Luck Be A Lady” (Guys and Dolls), “Santa Fe” (Newsies), “One” (A Chorus Line), “Dancing Queen” (Mamma Mia!), “Cabaret” (Cabaret), “You Can’t Stop The Beat” (Hairspray) among many others! Ridgefield Magazine Broadway and Cabaret Series brings this multi-media extravaganza to the stage on Saturday, February 25!
Partially underwritten by Adam Broderick Salon & Spa and Bruce Bennett Nissan, DANCIN’ BROADWAY will have two shows – a shortened performance appropriate for children and families at 4 p.m., which is part of the Ridgefield Academy Family Series, and a full performance at 8 p.m. From Agnes de Mille to Bob Fosse to Jerome Robbins, iconic choreography has made stars of dancers and forged the path of Broadway musical theatre. Tony Award – wining celebrity choreographers, leading Broadway dancers and “gypsies” make video appearances to share fun and inspiring backstage stories and clips of their favorite blockbuster dance performances. Hear what it was like to works with legends such as Bob Fosse, Jerome Robbins and Bob Avian among others. This high energy celebration of dance is Directed by Daniel C. Levine (Les Miserables, Chicago, Mamma Mia!), with Choreography by Mark Myars (Wicked, If/then) and Musical Direction by Bryan Perri (Wicked, Chaplin).
